About
Howchi Kilburn:
Howchi
is a soul friend of 22 years. He was trained by Jaichima,
a profound Huichol elder/seer, and has
combined and interelated his Marriage, Family, Child practice
with Vision Quest and North and South American healing techniques
for many years. He also put in 23 or so years teaching
Tai Chi and conducting Meditation and Self Healing classes
at the Santa Rosa, CA
Junior College.
During the latter 10 of those years, Howchi conducted day-long
in the wilderness Visions Quests - a beautiful and profound
experience. He and I and a few also contributed to the once
a month Flower Ceremony request of Dhyani Ywahoo, the
Etowah (eastern) Cherokee Chieftainness. (You might want
to check out her "can't put it down" book: Voices
Of Our Ancestors. (Cherokee teachings, Wisdom Fire, Tibetan/
Dalai Lama connection, Beauty Way, & Sunray Meditation
Society)
Howchi has had 2 invitations to guide Vision Quests
in the Ukraine, where there is a keen interest
in spiritual and self realization practices. I
suspect these yearly invitations will be ongoing.
In
1995, Howchi trained to be a Vision Quest leader
with Steven Foster and Meredith Little at the School
of Lost Borders. Each year since then he has mentored
at least one group of Vison Questers: preparing,
holding sacred space during the 3-4 day fast, welcoming
back and facilitating integration and incorporation.
Howchi's candor and humor
are a delightful addition to his offerings of remembrance,
renewal, and profound connection. His partner and wife,
Annie, is and reflects all things of beauty and sensitivity.
